Play golf at Yarrawonga Mulwala and see why this is one of Australia’s golfing mecca’s. Located alongside the Murray River this golfers paradise has a mammoth 45 holes to play. These include the 18 hole Murray Course, the 18 hole Lake Course and the par thirty-three 9 hole Executive Course. The Murray Course and Lake Course continue to be ranked highly in Australia’s top one hundred golf courses.
The Murray Course is set out partly along the river and features majestic river gums, sandy flats, lagoons and generally has narrower fairways. Perfect for the straight shooter.
The Lake Course in located on the Lake Mulwala side of the property and features strategically places bunkers, lakes, undulating greens and generally has wider fairways. Great for those who are slightly errant from the tee.
The 9 hole Executive Course is laid out in a lovely park like setting. This great little scenic course is more playable for the less gifted golfer but still has enough challenges for the most experienced.
There are many fantastic golfing holes to play at Yarrawonga Mulwala. One of GolfAway’s favourites is the picturesque 156 metre par three 14th on The Lakes Course. From the tee your eyes are drawn to the large expanse of water to the right. A large bunker fills the gap between the water and the right edge of the green. Another smaller bunker is perfectly placed on the back left and the front left is protected by a runoff that repels anything that’s slightly short of the green. This excellently designed golf hole is always fun to play.
