Play golf at Toowoomba’s premier golf course at Middle Ridge. The Toowomba Golf Course is a classic design in a beautiful park like setting. Each of the 18 holes are unique and offer a great golfing celebration. And, being at altitude, the weather here is cooler than most other parts of the state. This in itself provides a excellent alternative stay and play golf Queensland experience.
The Toowoomba Golf Course can be played all year round with the changing colours of each of the four seasons providing a great spectacle. The tees, fairways and greens are always in impeccable condition for all 12 months of the year.
On the front nine the short 120m downhill par three 7th hole is a visually stunning golfers delight. From the tee you look down over water to a large green with towering trees as the backdrop. The hole plays easy enough on most occasions but there is water in front and to the left of the green, out of bounds over the back and a large bunker guarding the right. A great birdie chance here.
On the back nine the long downhill par five 15th hole is a standout. The fairway has an ‘S’ shape to it first turning around to the left and then, nearer to the green, turning back slightly to the right. This is a fun hole to play with a few different options. Off the tee for the shorter hitters there is a dam to the right. All the way from tee to green there is out of bounds to the left which comes into play for the longer hitters from the tee. The safe play here is to use a club that ensures you stay on the fairway. Rated as the 5th hardest hole on the course a par here is very satisfying but a birdie is even better.
