Being a 9 hole golf course suits the laid back feel here and to play Magnetic Island golf course is somewhat a very relaxing day out. There are separate tees on most holes so the second time around to complete 18 holes does have a level of variety.
This is a fun course to play. There are no bunkers here but you can still find some trouble if you play off line and into longer grass. You also won’t find any long water carries or long par 3’s either. Enjoyment is the key here.
The whole golf course is irrigated and very well maintained. There is one par 5, four par 4’s and four par 3’s. The very short par 3 5th (and 14th) holes is a highlight. Most players would use some sort of wedge to fly the ball downhill, between the gum trees and over a small ravine to the green. Playing this hole is always inviting.
The Magnetic Island Country Club is open from 8am seven days a week.
