Play golf at Coolangatta Tweed Heads and experience 36 outstanding golfing holes. The 18 hole River Course borders the majestic Tweed River. It has so many differing holes to play which really makes for an enjoyable golfing experience. The 18 hole West Course is just as enjoyable and slightly more challenging. Club selection on this course plays a vital part in posting a great score.
There are so many highlights to playing golf at Coolangatta Tweed Heads. The fairways are always in tip top condition. So are the rather generous greens which offer enough undulations to make things interesting. Water courses, ponds and lakes are scattered around both golf courses and are featured brilliantly in the golf course design. The sub-tropical flora also adds to the wonderful relaxed atmosphere you can’t help but feel when you play golf here.
There are many candidates for the signature hole here at Coolangatta Tweed Heads. We all agree though that the signature hole must surely be the 314 metre par four 13th hole on the River Course. Driver is not the choice of club here even for the longer hitters that could get close to the green. From the tee there is a very narrow tree lined chute to negotiate before finding the narrow fairway below. The approach shot to the elevated long narrow green is also fraught with danger. Out of bounds lurks to the right and a there is a huge runoff down the left. This short par 4 is one of GolfAway’s all time favourites to play.
