Light to moderately undulating fairways have been wonderfully designed into the the well draining sand dunes in this coastal region. The meticulously maintained greens are large and provide many pin placements which give each hole great variety from day to day. One of the features of playing golf at Newcastle are the large and deep bunkering which are a real standout.
The trio of holes at 5, 6 & 7 are pure design genius with some of them featuring in books and highly rated as some of best golfing holes in the world. It’s a difficult choice but our pick for signature hole at Newcastle golf course is the impeccable 485 metre par four 10th. Negotiating the undulations with a blind tee shot and equally blind 2nd shot will have your heart racing to see where your ball has come to rest. For many of us a third pitch or chip shot is required to find the large green which is guarded at the front by three large and deep bunkers. A truly memorable & delightful hole to play.
