Playing Mount Coolum Golf Course is like being in a sub-tropical park with close up views of the majestic mountain. This golf course is quite flat and requires many straight tee shots on the narrow fairways to compile a good score. Several water courses and subtropical beach side vegetation give a great holiday vibe. This makes this particular layout very enjoyable indeed.
Our favourite hole at Mount Coolum is the 531 metre par five 6th. From the tee you look directly into the face of towering mountain while deciding on how to tackle this hole by avoiding the water course that crosses the tight fairway. The fairway itself gently curves around to the right and helps those of us who naturally fade the ball. Most players however are hitting there third shot to approach the green which is guarded by bunkers to the front and to the right. As with most holes at Mount Coolum accuracy pays off.
