“Enjoy a wonderful variety of holes when you play golf at Merewether”

Set amongst a forest of Eucalyptus trees and meandering around ponds and lakes the Merewether golf course is certainly a charming place to play golf. With a total length of 5639 metres you certainly don’t need to be a long hitter to get your share of birdie opportunities here. Having said that there are still some long par three’s and par four’s that will get your attention.

The undulations on the course naturally lends itself to a large assortment holes to play. The greens also vary in shape and size from small & narrow to large & wide giving every player that satisfying, all-round golfing experience. At Merewether one thing is for sure, you won’t be bored playing here.

The choice of a signature hole at Merewether is not an easy one. The golf club itself has nominated the lovely but testing 373 metre uphill par four 15th but us here at GolfAway have chosen the engaging 281 metre par four 2nd. It is almost impossible to drive the green on this short dog-leg right par four. The ideal tee shot distance is to around 170 metres from the tee. This leaves an enjoyable short approach over the large dam to a moderately sized kidney shaped green. With water fringing the front of the green and a bunker over the back, shot selection and distance control is critical here to post a great score.
