With an amazing 27 holes to play Bateman Bay’s Club Catalina golf course is one of South Coast NSW’s premier destinations. This easy to play but hard to master layout offers something for every golfer. The first 18 holes (1-18) are a flat and easy walk with the remaining 9 holes (19-27) also being mostly flat with some undulating holes.
Club Catalina Batemans Bay golf course has three 18 hole configurations. The Old Course is holes 1-18, The Composite Course is holes 1-9 & 19-27, and The West Course comprising of holes 10-27. All three courses are equally enjoyable and have a very similar Slope (difficulty) Rating. This means that any course you play here you will bet met with an equally challenging game of golf.
The fairways at Club Catalina are a real highlight giving the best possible lie for any fairway wood and/or approach shots. The greens here are mostly generous in size and are in impeccable condition all year round.
GolfAway’s choice for signature hole at Catalina Club Batemans Bay is the picturesque 136 metre par three 7th. Set in the heart of the golf course the view from the tee, at this tricky little par 3, is almost directly up the line of Hanging Rock Creek which runs towards the pin before hugging the front left of the large(ish) two tiered green. There are no bunkers to contend with but there is a rather large grassed swale short right of the green. Good distance control will ensure you hit the middle of the green but may leave you with a testing putt depending on the pin position. Walking to the green you will cross a smaller version of the famous Hogan Bridge at Augusta National which completes this beautiful looking hole.
