Nowra Golf Course

“Wedged between the river and the escarpment Nowra Golf Course plays like no other.”

Discover some wonderful natural features you rarely see golfing when you play Nowra Golf Course. Bordering the majestic Shoalhaven River this 18 hole layout also features monolithic rock formations, touches of tropical jungles, a beach on the river and a massive rock faced escarpment complete with elevated cave like tee-off locations.

Built on a fertile base of river silt the Nowra golf course is brilliantly green all year round. The fairways are the courses best feature and each golfer will have that pristine lie to give the best chance with approach shots. The greens vary greatly in size and shape and the whole course is very well designed and snugly fits within this limited but picturesque riverside property.

With many candidates to choose from here GolfAway’s vote for signature hole at Nowra golf course is the visually stunning 151 metre par three 16th. Set under the shadows of the imposing escarpment this lovely medium length par 3 is a pure delight. The target is a generously sized green that narrows towards the back. The right is heavily forested and to the left is a rather large rock, complete with an assortment of palm trees, protruding from the ground at an usual angle. The front left and front right of the green are guarded by bunkers but there is still and opening to the green for the lower struck golf ball. This hole is definitely camera-worthy and is certainly a favourite of many who play it.
