“Two superbly differing golf courses to play at Cobram Barooga”

Play golf at Cobram Barooga and experience superb Murray River golfing conditions. Not one but two distinctive golf courses to play – the Old Course and the West Course. The Old Course is slightly shorter, flatter and generally has narrower fairways. The West Course has some undulations, generally wider fairways and more water hazards. They are both equally challenging and enjoyable to play.

Our favourite hole on Cobram Barooga’s Old Course is the revamped 333 metre par four 18th hole. Two accurate shots are required here for a birdie putt. The tee shot is slightly obscured with the narrow fairway bending right to left. The short iron approach shot to a raised green, guarded all round by bunkers, is relatively easy if the pin is placed in the centre. If not then this shot can be very challenging.

On the West Course we vote the 360 meter par four 7th hole as on one of the best. The tee shot is crucial on this hole. From the tee the fairway dogleg’s around to the right which is great for most people with a slice. Their is heavy bush and water to the left and two strategically placed fairway bunkers on the right, at the dogleg corner, to avoid. Once safely on the fairway though it only leaves a mid to short iron to the large green. You only then need to avoid the three surrounding greenside bunkers to have a great chance at birdie!
